Open the doors to world cinema with the 28th Sofia Film Fest ONLINE in partnership with Neterra.TV+

Special selection of the most important festival titles and the last chance to watch other iconic films awaits viewers from all over the country.

In 2024, the Sofia International Film Festival will once again have an online presence on Neterra.TV+, alongside screenings in cinemas. The online festival will start together with the physical edition and will run until mid-April. Viewers from across the country will be able to join the cinema event of the year from the comfort of their home and on the most convenient device and watch intriguing global award-winning films from Cannes, Berlin, Venice, with Oscars, Globes and BAFTAs nominations and other very prestigious awards. Don't miss your "last chance" to see outstanding European and international films that have been part of festival selections over the years, and now we are offering them exclusively ONLINE! These are films whose rights for Bulgaria are expiring and your last chance to watch them in high quality and at home is NOW!

Highlights include the Berlinale '23 Golden Bear "On the Adamant" - a unique documentary narrative by Nicolas Philibert, the latest film by Finnish art-legend Aki Kaurismäki with the Jury Prize at Cannes - "Fallen Leaves", Agnieszka Holland's work with the Special Jury Prize from Venice - "Green Border", the new film of the doyen of Italian cinema Marco Bellocchio "Kidnapped", the Best Screenplay award in Cannes "Monster" by Kore-eda Hirokazu, Ken Loach's Palme d'Or-nominated "The Old Oak", Nuri Bilge Ceylan's "About Dry Grasses", Alice Rohrwacher's "La Chimera", Christian Petzold's "Afire" with the magnetic Paula Beer, the Golden Bear-nominated "The Plough" by the veteran of French cinema Philippe Garrel and "Ingeborg Bachmann - A Journey into the Desert" by the world-famous German director Margarethe von Trotta, who is also one of the winners of the Sofia Prize in 2024.

In the special Last Chance programme are Palme d'Or winner Ruben Östlund with "The Square", Fatih Akin with the harrowing "In The Fade", Wim Wenders with "Submergence", Ken Loach with "Sorry We Missed You", Kore-eda Hirokazu with "The Truth", films by François Ozon, Michel Hazanavicius, the Dardenne brothers, Claude Lelouch, Alejandro Amenábar and many others.
